A perfect beach trip!

We hadn't been to the beach yet this summer, so when we saw the perfect weather to be had there on Sunday, we decided it was a good day to hit the sand.

Elayna did great on the longer car ride and then we played for several hours down in the sand. By the time we left we were all covered in sand, and Elayna had it in her ears and hair (she was rolling and jumping in it!), but it was so worth it.

She had so much fun jumping and running and dancing in the sand. She even loved the waves after they knocked her over.

What an amazing day. We will be going back soon!

BBQ time!

We had so much fun at Shannan & Brian's BBQ the other day!

It was over 90 degrees outside and we were a little concerned about the heat, but once we got there, we realized that their beautiful, shaded, backyard, oasis was about 10-15 degrees cooler! Yay! They even set up a pool for the kiddies to play in, which of course they loved. Perfect evening with wonderful people!

Family Time

I think that my absolute favorite thing to do right now is to just go to the park with Jake and Elayna and have some quality family time. It's so relaxing in the evenings when it cools down, and Elayna is in heaven there. I wish we could spend even more time there. Oh, Summer... never leave me! ;)

A dollhouse! Guess who lives there?!

So, Elayna was constantly putting her Yo Gabba Gabba friends to bed in this pathetic little box that my contacts came in. She does the whole bedtime routine with these guys; kisses them goodnight, tells me they are sleepy, says "Nigh nigh" to them. We decided that a dollhouse would be one of those toys that would be a good investment. We found this one with furniture and dolls for $25! Great deal. She moved her YGG guys right in there, and immediately told me that Daddy was taking a nap ("Daddy nap"), and put him in bed. Haha!!

Sand and sun!

I took Elayna and Joaquin to a different park today to meet up with my sister Patti and her boys, Colton and Jaden. We met at a park that has a big sand pit for the kids to play in. I'm pretty sure they had a blast, considering how much smiling, squealing, and giggling I witnessed. They got filthy, but I suppose it was worth it! :)

We were doing "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" and I added a few. They were watching each other most of the time. Adorable. They are doing "teeth" here!

Just a fun evening playing on the slides and swings. She is so beautiful and happy that sometimes it still amazes me that she could be mine. =)

More park fun!

I am getting quite behind on blogging these past couple weeks, but here is a simple one. The kids love the park. I love the park. The park is fun. We will not be thrilled to see summer come to a close any time soon! :)

This is a newer park that we have started frequenting. The kids love running on the nice paths, and of course swinging and finding sticks. It's really nice and quite there!

We met up with my sister Patti and her family to pick some blueberries and ended up with 15 pounds of them!! Yummy.

Elayna had lots of fun running around and eating berries... lots of berries. I think she likes them almost as much as me. ;)

Fun at the park with Aunt Mimi!

Elayna loooooooves swinging and playing at the park lately. If we tell her that we are going to the park soon she starts saying "park. swing. please."

Jake says she really likes going high on the swings now and she giggles when she is going good.

We went with Aunt Mimi to the park the other day and Elayna loved having her push her on the swings and catch her at the bottom of the slide. She also thought it was pretty funny when Aunt Mimi and I were swinging like 11 year old girls on the swingset next to her, laughing and going really high. What a fun evening. :)

Now that she has her own little step stool, to climb up to the sink on, Elayna definitely likes when its time to brush our teeth. She crawls right up there and starts flirting with herself... often saying "baby" or "Layna" and pointing happily to the mirror. Sometimes she waves and says "night night" to herself, too! Ha!
